23rd December 1997

Marriage: SUTTON, Florence Winifred (nee Howard) (P546) to James SEARLE (P616), first cousins, at Methodist Church, Fairoaks, Eastleigh, Hampshire. Reported by Rose Bateman (nee Howard) (P397).

22nd December 1997

Event: Received Wills for Rose Howard and Derek W. Taylor in post from St. Catherine's House

Result: Bingo - an early Christmas present!!

Will of Derek W. Taylor proved to be a false lead, an army officer from North Wales. Rose Howard's Will on the other hand was pure gold. The beneficiary to the estate of Rose Howard who died intestate was one Betty Gloria Christina Taylor with an address in Peterborough from 1986. I called directory enquiries who provided a telephone number for a Taylor living at that address. Within minutes I was speaking to Betty and was delighted to have made contact after months of research.

Betty confirmed her connection with my Howard family and I am now in the process of writing to exchange information and photographs.
