I am looking for information on my great grand father Tom (or Thomas maybe) Howard. He was murdered by thieves whilst driving a pony and trap in Islington in 1890.It is almost certain his wife's name was Lillian. She was so broken hearted about the death of her husband that she died 12 months later. There family was then split up. I know for certain that my great grand father had five children. William my grandfather born in 1886 died in 1955. Emily his sister who is now dead. Who were the other 3 children and where are their descendants now? Does this account mean anything to you. From a family source, William (my grandfather) use to say that his father (my great grandfather) was a cockney, born in Bermondsey. If you can help I will be pleased to hear from you. Thanks. |

I am searching for information on the Howard Family fromOhio/Daviess County, Kentucky. I have very little information. George Jefferson Howard was my g-grandfather, born 1862, died 1933. He married Sara Emily Ward (everyone called her Sally), born 1876, died 1928. They had six children, Ivo Ezra, Herbert, May, Annabelle, George Herman and Ollie. Ivo was my grandfather. He was born in 1898 and died in 1973, he married Alice Finley. From what I know Ivo and Alice lived their early life in Ohio County and later in Daviess County Kentucky. George Herman and Ollie moved to Michigan during the depression. I would appreciate any information anyone would care to share. Thank you. |

Hi from Pennsylvania in the US. I am interested in my Howard family connection to England, and wonder if you have any early (17th century) information and documentation on Matthew Howard who was b ca 1610 in England and d ca 1655 in Virginia. He had a son Cornelius and they moved to, and settled, Maryland. One of my Rowan ancestors married Elizabeth Howard, daughter of Thomas Cornelius Howard. Thanks for your interest. I would love to learn more about England. Both my Husband and I have many English forbears who came to the New World in the 17th century. |

Hello! I found your website sort of by accident...I have been looking for information on my husband's side of the family for many months, but to no avail. Unfortunately, most, if not all, of his father's side of the Howard family have passed away, including his dad. I know it is difficult to tie down any information regarding the surname "Howard", there are so many of us, but I hope your LOST & FOUND site may bring some leads. My husband's full name is William R. Howard (when he was born his parents couldn't decide on Robert or Richard for his middle name..so they just used the initial of 'R'. He was born in San Diego, CA. on November 5, 1951. His parents were William Arlow & Celcilia Cargill Howard. (Cecilia was the 2nd wife). His dad was born in Colorado Springs, CO. on August 8, 1910 to William Luther & Caroline Davenport Howard. (Caroline was the 2nd wife). William Luther Howard was born in Carthage, MO. around 1870. There is a "family legend" that had been passed down regarding the lineage of William Howard, that his family is related to the Howard -side of the James family. Namely Frank & Jesse. Although, we take this story with a grain of salt....who knows. My information is limited, like I said there is no one around anymore to tell us about family history, but I hope someone out there has a link or two for us! Thank you very much! |

I'm looking for help. My great-grandfather was John Howard, born 28 July 1846 in Burwell, Cambridgeshire, England (according to a note my grandmother wrote). I have no information on his parents or siblings. He emigrated to Canada sometime before 1875 and settled in the area of Stayner, Ontario. His first wife's name was Elizabeth (surname unknown). His second wife, my great-grandmother, was Mary Briggs. If it is any help, his only son, the product of his first marriage, was named John Waudby Howard. My great-grandfather was known as John Howard Sr., and the son as John Howard Jr., but I don't have proof that ggf's middle name was Waudby. Can any one help? |

Hi Graham, I stopped by your site recently and, as usual, enjoyed looking through your information. On your Howard Links page I noticed that you don't have a link to us. I have expanded and improved what I used to call The Worldwide Howard Family Web Site. For the Howard Family we have a large searchable OnLine database which is growing weekly. We also decided to publish SINGLE NAME reports for Howard Names that are being "actively" researched by OnLine Howard Hunters... I would greatly appreciate a link to our web site, if you feel we are deserving... I have TWO links to your site... The first is via the Howard Family Web Ring, which I manage. The second is on OUR Howard Links page. If you see any other pages where you would like a link, let me know. By the way, your link to the Howard Family Electronic Newsletter will no longer function because Ramonyca Howard has "thrown in the towel"... What a shame!!! She has turned it over to the Howard Family Association. I really hated to lose her input to the OnLine Family of Howard Hunters.HAVE A GREAT DAY!!! |

I know that my Howard and Graham side of the family came from Great Britain sometime. However, I am not sure when, or, through whom. My father was Harvey Jeffrey Howard; his father was Charles Franklin Howard; his father was Greenup Jackman Howard; his father was Joseph Howard; and his father was Charles Howard. My father's mother was Laura Ann Graham; her father was John Graham, from Ohio. My father told me, many years ago, that John Graham was, originally, from England. However, on all US Census records, he stated that he was from Ohio. If you have any information of those Howard's who came to the USA from Great Britain, please inform me. Thank you for your time in this effort. |
